Artist Biography

Regina Telinski is a multidisciplinary artist and BFA candidate in Computer Animation with a Fine Arts Minor in Craft at Columbia College Chicago. 

Inspired by her Mexican American and Otomí heritage, Telinski’s research and fine arts practice centers on papel amate and handmade processes, with a strong emphasis on material exploration. 

In May 2025, Telinski was appointed to the Henry Nias Business in Arts Fellowship at the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago. Telinski additionally received the Norinsky Family Production Grant to support her upcoming 2027 BFA short film exploring papel amate and intangible cultural heritage. 

In October 2025, Telinski is participating as a lecturer alongside her mentor and esteemed papermaker, Melissa Potter, at Chicago’s Newberry Library at The 22nd Nebenzahl Lecture Series and accompanying exhibition, Mapping from Mexico: New Narratives for the History of Cartography.

After completing her BFA degree, Telinski intends to pursue doctoral studies in Museum Management and Latin American Art History, concentrating in Otomí art and culture.
